Privacy in Plusiko

Private by default. Shared only when you choose.

Family data stays on your device unless you connect another parent’s Plusiko app. Connected family data is synced through Firebase; child photo files always stay on their original device.

Data controller and contact

The data controller is Paweł Zienowicz. For privacy matters, contact zienowicz.pawel@gmail.com.

Data handled by the app

When Plusiko is used without family connection, this information stays in the app’s local storage. If a parent chooses to connect a second parent’s app, Plusiko syncs the family records listed below through Firebase Firestore:

  • the child’s name, chosen avatar, profile colour and optional photo;
  • activity and reward names, icons and availability settings;
  • points balance and transaction history, including dates and optional comments;
  • app preferences such as theme, animations, haptics and visibility of reversed transactions.

Plusiko uses Firebase Authentication to identify each parent by a Firebase user ID (UID). The family database does not include parents’ names, email addresses or profile photos, but Firebase Authentication may process and store account profile information received from Google or Apple.

Please enter only information needed to use the app. Avoid putting sensitive information in comments.

Profile photos

A photo selected for a child’s profile is stored in Plusiko’s private storage on that device. The image file is never uploaded to Firebase or any Plusiko server, including when family sync is enabled. Sync carries only the standard avatar choice, not a selected photo. The app does not provide an in-app camera capture feature.

Where data is stored

Without a connected family, profiles, catalogues and transaction history stay in the local app database and are not sent to Plusiko’s cloud. When a parent connects a family, the records described above are sent to Firebase Cloud Firestore and stored there so the connected parents’ apps can read and update the same family data. Firebase services also handle parent authentication and the family membership needed for sync. Connecting a family requires signing in with Google on Android or Apple on iOS.

The operating system may include app data in a device backup, depending on the platform and the user’s backup settings. Such backups are managed by the operating-system provider, not Plusiko.

The app does not add its own database encryption. Device and backup protection depend on operating-system settings.

Sharing and external services

Firebase (Google) provides authentication, Firestore cloud storage and related services when family sync is enabled. Access to family records is restricted by Firebase security rules to active family members. Google and Apple process sign-in information under their own privacy terms. Google Play processes purchases where applicable. Plusiko does not display ads.

Local features work without a connection. Signing in, connecting a family and syncing family records require internet access.

Analytics

Plusiko uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand app usage. The app logs event names such as child profile created, points added or deducted, reward redeemed, family connected and premium screens or purchases. These app-defined events are sent without child names, parent names, email addresses, photos, comments or transaction details. Firebase Analytics may also automatically collect technical and usage information, such as app/device details, session and engagement events, approximate location derived from IP address, and app-instance identifiers, as described by Google. Analytics is not used to show ads.

How long data stays on the device

Local data remains until deleted in the app, app data is cleared or Plusiko is uninstalled, subject to operating-system backups. Deleting a child profile removes it and its related transaction history from the local database and, when sync is active, from the connected family data. The family owner can delete the cloud family from the app; this removes its family records, memberships and invitation data. If a family’s Premium entitlement expires and it is not ended earlier by its owner, cloud family data is scheduled for deletion after 60 days. Firebase Authentication account data and Analytics data are handled under Google’s service retention and deletion controls.

Profile photos are stored separately in the app’s private folder. In the current version, a photo file may remain after its profile is deleted; it is removed when app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

Your choices and rights

You can manage local profiles in the app. For connected families, the family owner can delete the shared family; contact the controller for help with a data request. The controller does not receive a copy of the family database for separate use. Deleting the app or disconnecting a device does not by itself delete an active family’s cloud records.

For questions about personal data, contact the controller using the address listed above. Depending on applicable data-protection law, individuals may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority.
